This is a wonderful place to stay if you enjoy peace and quiet. The home has everything you need to relax. Wonderful views and scenery all around. Comfy sofas and beds with lovely bedding, really good showers, a beautiful bath and lots of towels. Really well equipped kitchen, with an additional utility with washerdryer which was a handy space to put the dogs food and water and also had a separate entrance which was handy in case of bad weather. Wifi and signal was hit and miss, but we didn't mind. We took some dvds, boardgames and books though there are some dvds, games, books etc if you need them. As mentioned, the track to the house is fairly long and a bit bumpy but we managed fine in our 3008, you just have to go slowly it takes about 10 minutes to get back to the road. The postcode took us into Botwnnog, we ended up finding it by navigating to Pont Saithbont Bridge, then found the no through road access. We had a lovely cake, milk and a bottle of fizz on arrival which was a lovely touch. We only managed to see maybe a quarter of the places we had wanted to visit as we just enjoyed the house so much, so we are already planning to return and explore further.

Absolutely Brilliant but we are easily pleased and have empathy with owners Perfection is not a given or a reality. Family of six 89, 68, 50, 37, 35, 33 yrs. 3 dogs 2 Havanesse 1 King Charles. Cars Tucson SUV, Outlander SUV, Audi TT, Audi RS3 Vorsprung . I have listed because of its location . We booked Trefollwyn because it was remote but also so near to lots of places. Location You travel down a nothrough Road to the end You then go straight on through a farm yard a right then a left and you are on a track for nearly 1 mile on reasonably smooth but a track you come to very nice smooth concreted sections every now and again so no racing BUT nothing go worry about a lowered TT and lowered RS3 V delimited were easy. what a great place peace & peace . Some areas in the house were a little tired but spotlessly clean, comfy beds and clean sheets plenty of space The owners grandson lives 4500 mtrs away and his daughters came on a visit with some fresh farm eggs. We had Cows & Sheep in every field close by they are very inquisitive and very friendly a little mooing & a little baaing but its nature We went for a walk to the beach top of cliff but a little steep to get down but its not impossible. Pubs for great food and atmosphere are the Sun Inn at Llanengen 15 mins away indoor or out door dig friendly and the Ship Inn at Llanbedrog 20 mins away dog friendly. We only ate once in Abersoch st the Soch a lot of the restaurants No dogs. But all of your cooking implements and needs are there if your want to cook in with all if the condiments supplied on hand. I personally think its a big pity Sykes do not allow a reviewer to post photos thats a negative a detailed view of the track to the cottage

An absolutely fabulous stay! ! We booked with family and friends to celebrate a 50th birthday and everybody said it was the most comfortable and best night's sleep they'd had not to mention the daily fight for the bath with a sea view!! The property was clean and well equipped with everything you could need, attention to details in each room with beautiful wallpaper and furnishings was lovely and the Piglet in Bed sheets finally convinced me to get my own! The setting is second to none, including a cow at the bathroom window and hares running across the fields. I Wouldn't have changed a thing about our stay and if we weren't moving to the area would absolutely book again! Thank you

Trefollwyn is beautifully remote, warm and cosy. The house is very well equipped with pleanty of wood available for the 2 wood burners. The owner had put up a christmas tree and other decorations for our arrival which was lovely. The property is a a re purposed farm house full of character. Don't expect crisp clean lines it's not that kind of place. It was 4 miles from the nearest town and a long bumpy driveway takes about 10 mins to navigate unless you're in a 4x4 or suv. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas week. Thank you.

We loved our stay at Trefollwyn Mawr this October. Upon arrival we absolutely fell in love with the house. Loads of space, lovely furniture and two very cosy logburners which we made full use of. For our family get together, this house was perfect. Great also for our three dogs who very much enjoyed the countryside and local beaches. In all a wonderful stay! Thank you!!

Large house, plenty of room. Lots of cupboard space in kitchen with everything you need. Clean & fresh on arrival. Welcome items appreciated, milk, cake & a bottle of fizz. Plenty of wood & coal for a few days if you want the multi burner on. So peaceful & quiet. We had a problem with our stay so we had to leave after 3 nights. The owner was going to rectify the issue. And we received a 50 refund. And we have booked again with Sykes.

What an amazing spot for a holiday home, with the most beautiful sea views! The house is well equipped and was very clean when we arrived. The enclosed garden is great for the children and dogs. We also arrived to a tasty cake from the owners, thank you. My brother, sister and Dad used to go camping in Rhiw when we were children and to return with our children was really special. The beach can be accessed from the house, its a bit of a climb but definitely doable even when carrying old dogs and children!. We have already booked again for next year.

This is our second stay at this cottage, and our party of 6 adults, 3 children and the dogs all enjoyed themselves as much as the first time! Lots of room for everyone, with a stunning location. The main concern during the first visit was the lack of water pressure, this has obviously been dealt with as everything was great this time. A quick mention about the above review, I'm not sure what their problem was, but hey you can't please everyone! If you have booked to come here maybe read all the other reviews and have a happy holiday. We will certainly be back. Thank you.

After we arrived I was all for going straight back home. To sum up, the house felt dilapidated and neglected. Nothing felt particularly clean and the windows had been left open presumably to get rid of the smell. I wont be using your company again and I doubt I will return to Wales again after this awful holiday. Easily by far the worst holiday experience I have ever had.

Spent a lovely relaxing week in the property. Nice that some original features of the old house have been kept. The dogs loved the freedom. Would certainly go back again.

The property was lovely! We stayed here with 8 adults and 1 young child and the pooches. There was plenty of space for us all. We luckily had the most amazing weather so spent most of our time outside, we did bring some extra camping chairs which allowed us to have enough seating for everyone outside. We had some lovely companions in the field beyond the garden and youd often have a friendly cow at the downstairs bathroom window. The walk to the beach was short, just over 2 fields and down a hill. The beach itself was incredible, even managed to get the paddle boards and kayak down! Would 100 recommend, and we will definitely be back again!

Such a fabulous house. Masses of space for 10 people with every room decorated beautifully. All the beds were comfortable and the 3 sitting areas were cosy and encouraged time together. The bath was enjoyed by 50 of us and was just a super treat for my birthday. Looking out on the stormy day whilst drinking buck fizz was a definite highlight. The road to the house is an adventure and you do think it will never end but it is definitely doable in whatever car you have , just take your time. We would love to return in sunny weather but really its a great place for any time of the year.

Lovely well equipped house , good location but we were unable to access the beach from the house as the cutting leading to it was very steep , full of brambles and water . This was a big disappointment to us , we are very fit but it was just too steep , so we had a ten minute drive every day to the beach .

We had the most fabulous holiday. Very happy to see the massive upstairs bed.. although don't think it's listed as a super king. Its a bonus so I would mention it. We only used the one bedroom but looked in at the others and they were all fabulous. the two bathrooms very modern and efficient. One minor point, I think the upstairs bathroom could do with a mirror on the wall above the sink. All in all, we had a fabulous holiday and will definitely try to rebook next year.

Absolutely beautiful house overlooking the sea. Directions from farm not very clear. Could do with some signage to get to the house as you think your going wrong going through fields but once there the dirt track was worth it

It was a lovely cottage, the views were beautiful. The kids enjoyed being by the Sea and to have that view with a morning cuppa you couldnt beat. It was a great holiday making memories with the family. Road getting to the cottage was interesting, I can see issues on bad weather days. Thank you for a great week.

This is the second time we have stayed at Trefollwyn Mawr and it was as good as the first time weather wasn't quite as kind from the wonderful views down to the homemade cake which was waiting for us when we arrived. It is a lovely house on its own near the sea, perfect for us and the dogs, the house is amazing and has everything you would need. I don't really want to tell people about this little gem of a place as everyone will want to go. It is also near to lots of other beautiful places, this year we discovered Aberdarren, which is a beautiful village and we had a meal where we could take the dogs right on the sea front, fabulous. I'm hoping we'll get to go back again soon.

Wonderful for both people and dogs, and wed love to visit again. Great care taken to ensure that we had all we needed and the cake and Prosecco were a very welcome extra touch!

It was fantastic! We couldn't have asked for better, and the space was even better than we had imagined.

This cottage is unbelievable. The views are stunning, there is lots of privacy around the cottage as it is very remote and everything was just how we expected. The kitchen has had a face lift since the original photos that we had seen so it was a lovely surprise. Everything was clean and the cottage was very roomy and cosy. We would definitely recommend it and we will be staying again in the future.

We had a lovey break in this amazing farmhouse. Everything that we needed for two families and two dogs was here! The walk to the beach was very muddy, but we had fun traversing across the fields and reaching Hells Mouth, be prepared with Wellington boots, there isnt really a clear path marked out. The house was very cosy and comforting, with plenty of spaces for everyone to relax in. The only thing I would recommend to bring is some speakersradio as there isnt one in the house. For anyone bringing their fourlegged friends, the garden is secure and enclosed, reading a few reviews before we left had me a bit worried, but it is all secure. The owners are very accommodating and responsive if there are any issues, they also left a very tasty cake for us on arrival!! Thank you

We had a lovely week at the farm house it was large but warm and during our stay we had some very windy wet weather but house was cosy. Track to the house is very long wet and muddy often with cows and sheep standing in the way, sheep moved no problem but the cows by the gate you need to open at the bottom took more convincing. Not that it bothered us but 2 of the family in their little Argo car felt a little intimidated surrounded by young bullocks. We would like to stay again but for us the garden is not secure and has many sheep yards away from our large young dog who has never chased sheep but she was very interested so made me very nervous if they ran she would think it was a good game. But it is very much a working farm so not complaining just something I need to think of in future The Potted Lobster in Abersoch was very good also and dog friendly but you need to book way in advance So yes I would recommend but take your wellies

The location of Trefollwyn is what sets this place apart from the rest. Set a mile down a rough farm track, it's set high on a clifftop with astonishing sea views. A large secure garden was perfect for our 3 dogs, and the lack of neighbours meant the reactive one of the pack was relaxed and calm. Plenty of space, we were impressed in particular with the quality of the sofas which are clearly new and different from pictured so many holiday cottages seem to have poor sofas so this was very appreciated! The upstairs bathroom has been renovated from the pictures too, with a large bathtub pointing directly at the sea views. The cottage had everything we needed in terms of facilities, and was clean throughout. We had to hunt for the towels however, eventually finding them all in the upstairs bathroom cupboard would be better if they could be placed on beds. WiFi was poor which annoyed the teens, the router was in an upstairs bedroom so some boosters downstairs might help this although i appreciate the remoteness means the WiFi would never be great This was our first visit to Wales and we were blown away by the beauty of the place. Nearest town with shops is Pwllheli which has an Asda, Abersoch is close by with all its attractions. Aberdaron is a must visit, simply stunning including the drive. We also visited Portmeirion which is only an hour away.

Our stay was exactly what we were looking for, beautiful & peaceful. The cottage was fantastic, so beautifully decorated with a great mix of old & new. All modern kitchen & bathrooms with comfortable beds & furniture without losing the old charm of the cottage. Brilliant garden for us & the 3 dogs, who were intrigued with the sheep & cows in the fields around, as they were with us. Loved the freestanding bath, with full view of the fields & the sea. Some lovely scenery & local beaches that were unspoilt. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be.

This house was amazing,my dream property,we could've stayed here and not gone home. The track is rough and bumpy but we'll worth it when you get to the property. You have views from every room including a sea view. We went with 3 dogs,perfect flooring,great utility room and nice enclosed garden. The beds were very comfortable,the kitchen was well equipped and had everything you would need,can't fault this property in anyway.

Overall the farmhouse was very nice. The homemade cake was especially good. We enjoyed our stay however a few areas were not as good as they could have been. Cobwebs and some areas need looking at. Just a little tired and in need of attention. These things however did not ruin our stay. The worst part was the lane. It was dreadful and does need looking at. When it says a rough lane that is an understatement!! also finding it. Maybe a few signs so you do not end up knee deep in mud!! I know it would be expensive to fix the lane however it is something that would make you want to go back. As the view and general faciliteis were okay. All my guests thought that although we had a good time, we would not return here mainly because we value the suspension on our cars.

We really enjoyed our stay the house was comfortable and well equipped. Directions were clear. The house was warm and we soon christened the bath sunset bath as the view over the sea was great. The way down to the beach was very muddy at times but once we sussed out the best route it was a joy to be able to walk everyday on a secluded beach stretching for miles. The homemade cake was much appreciated and delicious. We loved our holiday here and would definitely return

Excellent property, really comfortable. Location ideal and as described. Would suggest a sign in the farmyard directing you where to turn to the track road to the property otherwise cannot rate it highly enough if you want peace and quiet with stunning views. Hope to visit again.

The property is set in such a beautiful and secluded place, deep into farm land just a short walk away from an almost private stretch of beach, 4 miles in length. The garden, and surrounding fields, provided ample space for the children to play in. The views are simply incredible. You have an amazing view from each and every window in the house. Superb stay, and would not hesitate to book again in the future!

This was the holiday we were hoping for. The property was lovely and the location perfect. Couldnt have wished for anything else. The home made cake was a lovely touch and was delicious. Would recommend this property

Great Location, Fantastic Views , Very Relaxing And Peaceful Holiday, Highly Recommend.

Fabulous stay at this fantastic property. Massive group of friends and family with 4 children and assorted adults we had a full house. But the layout of the house and the bedrooms we didn't feel over crowded. The views are absolutely stunning. Having sheep wander past the window while you use the facilities and cows watch you cook entertained the kids throughly. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are lovely and roomy. Utility room is fabulous for storing beach stuff, kids junk and extras. The road is pretty rough, but take it slow and it was fine. One night we got trapped for ten minutes by escaped cows, and thought we saw a wolf actually an escaped Shetland pony which was a hilarious experience and they moved easily with a quick honk of the horn. Loads of parking is a plus. The little garden was a plus for the kids. We found a gorgeous little beach not too far away which was great. The only tiny downsides to the holiday was 1. The dining room can feel a little cramped when fully occupied. It's not the end of the world, but I wish the extra sofa wasn't there for our group size. 2. The hob shattered however a call to the owner and she couldn't have been more supportive and helpful. She had it repaired first thing the next day. Brilliant attitude and so friendly. We will definitely return. Fantastic holiday, in a gorgeous area. 5 owners!
