Is 6 Boat Yard Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families

Kids will love the beach just 0.4 miles away for sandcastle building and paddling. The twin room with bunk beds sleeps two children. Smart TVs in all bedrooms provide entertainment on rainy days. The enclosed rear patio offers safe outdoor space. Abersoch village has ice cream shops and cafes within a three-minute walk. Water sports lessons are available locally for older children.

For Couples

This property works better for families than couples. The three-storey layout and eight-person capacity make it too large for a romantic break. Couples wanting a coastal retreat should consider smaller properties. The first-floor king-size bedroom does have a private balcony. However the communal spaces and multiple bedrooms suit group holidays rather than intimate getaways.

Pet Friendly

One small well-behaved dog is welcome at 6 Boat Yard. Water and feeding bowls are provided for your pet. The enclosed rear patio gives dogs safe outdoor space. Beach walks are 0.4 miles away. The Llyn Coastal Path passes nearby for longer walks. Shops selling pet supplies are 0.3 miles away in the village centre. Local beaches allow dogs year-round.

6 Boat Yard Reviews

Lovely house and perfect for our family. Had a bit of a problem with the water and plumbing but the agency sent a plumber next day who sorted it. One smoke alarm chirping so we had to take it down as it needed a new battery. Told the agency the day I phoned about the water problem but they didnt send anyone to fix it while we were there. Large rat wandering round the garden so you may need a bait box! It says in the info bring bath mats which we did but found they were supplied. Excellent very comprehensive instructions about rubbish and recycling. Unfortunately other people used our bins so we had to sort the stuff out as they dumped it all in one bin but I suspect theres not much you can do about that. Toilet water is constantly running from cistern into bowl making a noise but the plumber who fixed the water said he didnt have the tools to repair it! This looks like a list of grumbles but it really isnt, just letting you know any hiccups. Overall we had a lovely holiday with fantastic beaches, lakes and restaurants. The two counties ice cream shop was the highlight for the children!

Second time at this property, love the flexibility that the location provides as well as the comfort of the property itself. Hopefully back next year

Cottage was in a good location with adequate parking and added bonus of patio and furnishings. Fully equipped with bonus of TVs in all bedrooms. Great as pet friendly and bowls supplied for dogs. However the living room carpet was badly stained which was a little off putting with small children having to play on. The downstairs toilet handle had had a temporary repair to it which broke within a day of being there. The trap in the bath was clogged and also in the shower on the first floor to an extent that the shower was very slow to drain and you had to stop showering until the water had drained away. Otherwise the beds were comfortable, the decor was clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved our first experience of Abersoch. Fantastic location for the beach and enjoyed viewing the boats.

Toilet siphon on top floor ensuite was constantly running, requires new, water dripping from hot water tank pressure relief above door quite dangerous as hot requires heating engineer would have rectified if I was in my van and had access top floor bed. ... really squeaky? Other than those small issues, the accommodation is excellent and perfect location.

Richard

The house was good but its the only one weve rented out of loads in the UK and abroad where we have to pack our own bath towels and mats. Good location put not totally clean and the Nespresso machine isnt easily usable as the pods arent readily available. A BBQ would have been useful

Great location, great cottage. Loved the boat yard it is noisy, but it's great to see so we liked it! Nice courtyard garden. Overall great stay..... I know you list as not providing towels which we didn't see so that's our fault. But we felt that teatowels, bathmats and hand towels in the bathrooms would have made the whole stay feel much nicer.

Amanda

Good location, close to the Main Street and the beach.

A lovely property, superb location for exploring Abersoch and its environs. Beautifully clean with excellent facilities, on the whole. A couple of points No teapot! Such a drag and a waste when there are several people wanting a cuppa. One tea towel is insufficient for a weeks drying up! Bath mats, please. Would recommend to family and friends, take your own teapot and tea towels. Thank you

Lovely property well positioned to all amenities in Abersoch. Pet friendly & although we took everything needed for our small elderly dog it was good to see water feeding bowls available. Would definitely stay again in this cosy well presented house.

Second time staying here and its everything you want and need. Really well appointed with everything you need.

We Loved our stay, plenty of room for all the family, and very well equipped, ideal locations to the beach and village, the beds were comfy, and summer started this week. Happy Days Thank you Barry and Debbie

We had a lovely holiday in this well equipped house. There were many positives like cleaning equipment and tools supplied. Spacious living area and three . There were a few negatives, The shower door in the first room bathroom kept coming off its hinge. The bedroom door handles were very squeaky. There were no recycling bins just one large bin. This bin was not emptied at all during our stay. We had put it out ready for collection.

Malvina

Great location although the tractors can be noisy but only now and again.

We had a super holiday in your well equipped house. Great bathrooms, comfortable beds and a user friendly kitchen. In order for us all to have showers after leaving the beach we had to reset the boiler, but otherwise everything worked well. Nice little garden at the back of the house...unfortunately we didn't use it as the weather was too cold A really good house to rent that we would heartily recommend.

Great place and location. Patio area great, spotlessly clean and well equipped kitchen. Dont forget to bring your own towels, bath mat and tea towels. Only negative personal choice for us was that both the double beds are quite soft, just worth being aware of.

George

Very nice place great location for a short walk into town or the beach. Our only issue with our stay was trouble with hot water. It was very hit and miss which wasnt ideal bathing our little one. And theres a very visible leak under the boiler so theres obviously an issue. Other than that a very good stay

Lovely house in an ideal area. My friends and I had a lovely stay. Short walk to the beach, shops and barscafe which was perfect! Accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here. Cant wait to go back sometime

Joanne

We booked this gorgeous house at the Boatyard for a week, and were fortunate to have lovely weather for the time of year. Pre arrival we were given excellent instructions and guidance. The house was perfect, lovely and clean with everything you need and more for a relaxing week away. The house is decorated lovely with a home from home feeling and the location of the house was perfect, it overlooks the boat yard and was lovely to sit out on the balcony in the sun with a cuppa in the morning watching the world go by. A short 3 minute stroll and you are in the centre of Abersoch with all the lovely shops, restaurants, pubs and 2 gorgeous beaches. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Had a fabulous week & would definitely stay again. One small concern was that the back door from the kitchen didnt lock very securely. And the key had to be left in. The same for the bedroom balcony doors. But knowing Abersoch well, this wasnt an issue as crime is low. House was very well kitted and already looking at booking for next year. Thank you

Basic items were missing bath mats, oven gloves surely these 2 items are basic health and safety, tea towel, bottle opener, hand soap not ideal in covid times. There was no where to washwipe sandy feet as entering the house I notice other houses has an outside tap at the front. No recycling bins again other houses had these.... All doors are stiff and only lock with force. Main bedroom on floor 1 has thin white curtains which do not block the light from the street light directly outside the window and of course the natural day light at 5am. Very little sleep was had not what I want on a holiday. The cot ordered was not left as agreed I had to drive to pick one up from the local office and was rudely asked to bring it back without a thought for the inconvenience this caused me. All these things added up to a most unenjoyable stay and we will NOT be booking again. Abersoch itself is lovely but this house has truly let you down.

Four of us adults, had a great relaxing stay here for a week. Its a lovey house and central to Abersoch itself. We were able to walk to the local restaurants and bars and even to the beach. I!d definitely go for longer out of season, as its better value then. Great little holiday!

Catherine

Excellent property, great find and would 100 stay there again.

Andrew

Tired , furniture, carpets need replacing. Not been decorated for some time. Promised a bbq, was rusty and not adhering to safety regulations, would have been very dangerous to have used who checks these things ?

Great location, great house, had everything we needed for a family of four in Abersoch.

Second time at this property, love the flexibility that the location provides as well as the comfort of the property itself. Hopefully back next year
