Brynffynon Reviews

Graham
This cottage is very sweet, very old and quaint with exposed beams, low ceilings and stunning views and position, close to gorgeous beaches and countryside walks on the Cilan headland. We enjoyed our stay, however there were no towels provided as stated, so we had to buy some, and the smell of bleach when we arrived was so overpowering we had to open every window and door for the rest of the evening. When it came to cooking there were pans we needed that were deeply scratched and even rusty, which was not food safe. The description requires some adjustments, as the shower is not walk in, it is over a bath, the dining table would struggle to seat six, there is a kitchen cupboard that you can't open more than a few inches because of the washing machine, and on the whole the cottage, although well equipped with a good list of items, lacks a personal touch and is somewhat unsympathetcally to such a sweet old property provided as a holiday let in my opinion in terms of fixtures, fittings, furniture and decor, and I think overpriced when we stayed, even with a reduction for last minute booking. There is no information at all in the cottage, no instructions for rubbish and recycling, no welcome pack, nothing about the local area and not even a pint of milk on arrival although there were some tea bags and coffee which, having stayed in many cottages is unusual in my experience. On the whole a very sweet property, which could be amazing.
